Dixie Center Heats Back Up - September 18, 2015

After a long slumbering summer, the Dixie Center’s schedule, once again, is heating back up! Just for the month of September we have already hosted four major conferences along with some smaller events. This weekend the Crossroads Gun Show  will be held on both Saturday, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th .

Schools are back in session and summer vacations have rolled to an end, but there is still plenty more to come before the year comes to a close. Before we all realize it, the holiday season will be here and with it,  all the madness that accompanies it.  So be sure to mark your calendars now, in order to not miss out on the upcoming fun events.

The first weekend of October will host the traditional St. George Marathon, followed by the Huntsman World Senior Games, which will run from October 5 through October 17. Do check their online site for times and schedules of their various events and open-to-the public entertainment. Following the Senior Games, a large conference will take place during the third week of the month. On October 23rd and 24th the Fall What Women Want show will begin the challenge of  the start of our holiday shopping.  Oh, yikes!! Let us not forget Halloween, which falls on a Saturday on October 31st. After the Trick ‘n Treating is over, and once the kids are snug in their beds, it will be time for Mom and Dad to dress up and come down to the Dixie Center to enjoy the Heart of Dixie dance, that will be held from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am.

It’s time to VOTE again! Seems like we were just at the polls, but on November 3rd the City will hold its General Elections (remember it was just the primaries before), so if you want your voice to be heard be sure not to forget to go to the polls and cast your vote!!

On November 6th and 7th Deseret Books will host a ladies “Time Out for Women” seminar.  Then on November 18th, Jubilee of Trees will bring the holiday spirit to us, as they  open the Jubilee with the Bar J Wranglers on Wednesday evening,  and will continue to delight us with the display of their beautiful trees through November 23rd.  For the schedule of all their planned events, please be sure to click on their link. This annual event is a must see for young and old alike, and is sure to start the stirring of the holiday spirit within us, with Thanksgiving just a few days away.

Once you have warmed your stomachs with the feast of Thanksgiving, you will want to work off  that feast and finish your long weekend by attending Santa’s Workshop on November 27th and 28th  with a fun, holiday shopping spree! This well attended vendor show is sure to provide the perfect gift for those on your list, offering an abundance of unique and one-of-a-kind items.

Now that you are in the Holiday “mood” a must to attend is the Dickens Festival starting on December 2nd   and continuing through December 5th. Come and enjoy the nightly production of “Scrooge” and “Oliver”, walk through the streets of an ole English village, enjoy the town shops and offerings of entertainment merriment as you stroll through the village, but do be sure to watch out for the “rowdies” along the way!

For those that may be from out of town or who would like to attend a Christmas Eve Service, Calvary Chapel will once again offer their beautiful Christmas service to all that would like to attend, here at the Dixie Center. This non-denominational service will be held December 24th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Oops!! Time for the NEW YEAR………………………………
