May Days a Hay Day for Dixie Center! - May 8, 2012

  May is jammed packed with scheduled events at the Dixie Center!

On May 10th the Leadership Dixie Banquet will be hosted at the Dixie Center. If you have never heard about this organization you can check them out at their website at www.leadershipdixie.info/  Their mission is to provide a diverse resource pool of leaders who have been educated about Washington County’s opportunities and sensitized to cultural differences in order to provide for a quality future. Whether working as a community leader or business to business, they open up an opportunity of learning and communication that can be utilized as an invaluable resource in day to day dealings with the public and other business partners. 

Crown Fighting Championships, once again, will be promoting their Martial Arts Cage Fighting here at the Dixie Center on May 12th.  With a sold out crowd at their last event in January, they are hoping to meet with the same success at this event, as a continual growing interest in MMA  spans itself in the surrounding area.  For more event information visit their website at:

May 16th, Dixie Regional’s 2012 Evening Classic will be held in the Garden Room at the Dixie Center. Open to the public, this wonderful fundraiser will also host a two-day golf tournament, with play May 17th at Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club and May 18 at Valderra Golf Course at The Ledges. Proceeds from this year’s event will go to support the advancement of lifesaving and emergency trauma center designations at Valley View Medical Center and Dixie Regional Medical Center.  Additionally, they will also help support the new neurological services, to be introduced locally and launched with the Southern Utah Neurological Institute this coming fall with the arrival of Dr. Chad D. Cole, who will later be joined by Dr. Benjamin D. Fox in 2013.

Kicking off the upcoming NJCAA’s Division I Women’s Softball National Championships, being held at the Snow Canyon Complex in St. George May 17-19, will be a players banquet at the Dixie Center the evening of May 16th.  Be sure to come out and watch and support these talented athletes during their tournament play. Filling the needs of women far and near will be the upcoming “What Women Want” being held on Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19!  This ever popular event showcases “what every woman wants” from jewelry & clothing to botox and cosmetic remakes! The Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) will round out the month, hosting their 2012 Conference at the Dixie Center in St. George, May 25-27.  The world’s largest single-marque social organization for owners and riders of Honda Gold Wing/Valkyrie motorcycles they are dedicated to their motto: “Friends for Fun, Safety and Knowledge.”  GWRRA members enjoy the freedom of belonging to a not-for-profit, non-religious and non-political organization.  To learn more about this fun family of motorcycle enthusiast be sure to check out their online website at: www.gwrra.org/
