Jubilee of Trees Celebrates 31 Years! - December 1, 2011

Once again the beautifully decorated trees displayed at the Jubilee of trees delighted the hearts of young and old alike and began the awaking of the Holiday Season for all who attended. With 80 specially designed trees, it is the largest showcase of custom-designed trees and wreaths between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. It not only permeates the beauty of Christmas with its wondrous trees,  but brings to us the soul of the season with the many wonderful volunteers who donate their time in manning the booths, setting up decor, decorating the trees, creating and contributing beautiful wreathes, minature trees, artwork, jewelry, needlepoint, gingerbread houses, baked goods, and so much more, right down to the final clean-up and putting away until next year.  The entire event is showered with the loving, working hands of so many beautiful people, who’s hearts pour forth their love with the gifts of time and the gifts of their talents, with all the proceeds being donated to benefit the the Foundation of Dixie Regional Medical Center.  It is a gift that keeps giving.

This years  Jubilee theme was “Bringing New Life to the Holidays” with all of the proceeds going to supporting the newborn intensive care unit and children’s services.  If one was fortunate enough to attend the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce Luncheon on opening day, they would have been priveleged to have a beautiful live baby as their centerpiece, lying on a soft pillow in the middle of the table!  Of course, while not all of them stayed there through the entire luncheon, the young baby at my table slept through the entire luncheon without a stir, and what a beautiful baby she was, reminding us of how precious life really is!

Picking up the extended entertainment at this year’s event were the infamous Bar J’s , Bells & Boots (who start the event off on the eve of opening day), Collin Raye, and The Fictionist, with various free entertainers scheduled throughout the event on a daily basis.  Other entertainment that was offered included the Chamber Luncheon, Gala Dinner & Auction, the Teddy Bear Picnic, the Fashion Show Luncheon, and Festive Family Fun Night, which was the finale to a week of Christmas glory!

If you have not yet added this to your ” Holiday to Do Traditions ” then 2012 would be the year to start! I cannot think of a more beautiful way to start your Holidays off.
